We have reprinted our first ever publication, dating from 1990, Langford through the Lens Volume 1. This book in 73 pages delves into Langford’s past with photographs of personalities and events explained in extensive captions.
The reprint also has the advantage of incorporating amendments and discoveries made since publication by means of an errata list in the title pages. It is a nicely produced paperback book and costs £7 plus postage (as at November 2024) and may be ordered either via this website; or from John Shipman e-mail address j.m.shipman@ntlworld.com for collection in the village – For details of other Langford History Society books available please see the publications page
Mystery
Meanwhile, we have a mystery to solve. Mike Strange of Biggleswade Historical Society came across two photos both concerning Langford which he kindly passed on to us. The first shows what appears to be a Sunday School children’s Christmas party probably post-war and the gentleman in the picture is thought to be Jack Street. Can anyone identify the venue, the date, the occasion and some of the people?
